Lucy Robinson

Lucy Jane Robinson (born September 7, 1968 in Worthing , West Sussex ) is a British theater and film actress .

Life

Lucy Robinson was born in 1968 as the daughter of the British show master Robert Robinson (1927-2011) and his wife Josee Robinson in West Sussex. She has a sister, Susie, and a brother, Nicholas. From 1991 she appeared in numerous British television productions as an actress. From 1994 to 1995 she appeared in 24 episodes of the television series Revelations . In the very successful BBC multi-part series Pride and Prejudice , a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Jane Austen , she played the role of snooty Mrs. Hurst alongside Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth . With Emma followed in 1996 another Austen adaptation for television, in which Robinson appeared alongside Kate Beckinsale as Mrs. Elton. In the film comedy Bridget Jones - On the Edge of Wahnsinns (2004), whose book by Helen Fielding refers to pride and prejudice , she was given a small supporting role alongside Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth.

Most of the time, however, Robinson can be seen in television series such as Doctors , Doctor Who , EastEnders , The IT Crowd or Coronation Street . With Anna Chancellor , who played her sister Caroline Bingley in pride and prejudice , she appeared in eleven episodes of the satirical comedy series Suburban Shootout from 2006 to 2007 . In 2009 Robinson appeared in Noël Coward's play Happy Ghosts at the Nottingham Playhouse. She had previously appeared on stage in the coward play Present Laughter in London's West End .

Robinson has been married to actor Nicholas Murchie since 1999. This connection resulted in a son in 2001. They live together in London.
