The flowers appear in two forms and are five-fold. The calyx is tubular and hairless to downy hairy. The calyx tube reaches a length of 4 to 8 mm, the calyx lobes are usually less than 1 mm long, only rarely do they reach a length of 2 mm. The crown is circular to broadly ovate, dark lavender or purple to white and provided with purple veins.
