Maccabiade 2009
The 18th Maccabiad ( Hebrew המכביה ה -18 ישראל תשס"ט) Was from July 12 to 24. July 2009 in Tel Aviv held. At the largest Jewish sports festival, around 9,000 athletes from 55 countries took part in competitions in 31 sports.
The main competition site was the Ramat Gan Stadium .

Athletes from 24 nations won medals. 17 nations won at least one gold medal. Like four years ago, Israel led the medal table ahead of the United States and Russia.
