Manfred Matusza

Manfred Matusza (* 18th October 1944 in Burg on Fehmarn ) is a German economist , university lecturer and former local politician of the CDU . From 1994 to 2002 he was Lord Mayor of Villingen-Schwenningen .

Life

After elementary school he attended grammar school in Oldenburg in Holstein from 1955 to 1964 , from which he graduated with the Abitur . He then did military service with the telecommunications company . He left the Bundeswehr in 1966 with the rank of lieutenant in the reserve . In June 2016 he took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board at KWA .

He lives in Badenweiler .

Scientific career

From 1966 Matusza studied at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , from 1967 to 1971 economics . From 1971 he worked in Tübingen at the chair of Prof. Dr. E. Arndt. In 1974 he received his doctorate. Matusza completed his habilitation in 1981. From 1981 to 1987 he taught and researched there as a private lecturer . Since 1987 he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Tübingen and a lecturer at the Stuttgart Administration and Business Academy and the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart .

Political career

From 1982 he was a consultant, later head of department in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economics, Medium-Sized Enterprises and Technology . In 1992 he moved under Prime Minister Erwin Teufel , the delegates of the constituency Villingen-Schwenningen, was in the State Department .

In 1987 he ran for the first time for the office of Lord Mayor in Villingen-Schwenningen. However, Gerhard Gebauer won the election again . When Gebauer did not stand for election in 1994, Matusza prevailed. In 2002, he decided not to run again, although his re-election was considered so certain that the competing SPD wanted to forego an opposing candidate. He was succeeded by Rupert Kubon (SPD).
