Marco Postma (born August 26, 1983 in Leeuwarden ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Heerenveen Flyers again since 2014 and has been playing with the team in the newly created BeNe League since 2015 .

Career

Clubs

Postma, who comes from the Frisian provincial capital Leeuwarden , began his career as an ice hockey player in Heerenveen, 30 kilometers south, with the local Flyers . In 2000 he moved to the German junior league for Krefeld EV . After he had scored 34 scorer points in 35 games there, he returned to Heerenveen and played there in the honor division until 2008. In 2002 he won the Dutch Cup with the Flyers . From 2008 to 2010 Postma was hired by the Nijmegen Devils , with whom he won the cup in 2009 and the championship a year later . Nevertheless, he left the Gelderland again and returned to Friesland for a short time. During the 2010/11 season he moved to the German Oberliga West to the Ratinger Ice Aliens , where he played the season to the end. He has been on the ice at HYS The Hague since 2011 . With the team from the Dutch government metropolis, he won the national cup competition and the North Sea Cup in 2012 and the national championship title in 2013. In 2014 he moved to Heerenveen again. Since 2015 he has been playing with the Flyers in the newly created BeNe League . There he won the national championship and the Dutch cup competition in 2016 with the club as the best Dutch club. He himself was awarded the Frans Henrichs Bokaal as the most valuable Dutch player . In 2017 he not only won the Dutch championship again with the Frisians, but also the BeNe League, to which he himself made a significant contribution as the best preparer of the league.

International

For the Netherlands, Postma took part in the games of European Division II of the U18 World Cup in 2000 and Division III of the U18 World Cup in 2001 . In 2001 (in Division III) and 2002 (in Division II) he was on the ice at the U20 Junior World Championships.

At the World Cup Division I in 2007 he made his debut for the men's national team , but did not score in five missions. He also played with his national team in Division I at the World Championships in 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 and 2014. Postma also took part with the Dutch team in the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2014 Winter Olympics, without the Dutch however could qualify.
