Margarete Ehlert

Margarete Ehlert (born June 23, 1886 in Kleefeld , Braunsberg district , † December 2, 1962 in Berlin ) was a German social welfare worker, ministerial official and politician ( German Center Party , CDU ).

Career

Ehlert initially worked commercially. From 1912 to 1920 she was head of the women's department at the Schöneberg municipal employment office . After the city was incorporated into Berlin, she moved to the newly established Reich Labor Administration as a member of the government . In 1923 she became an assistant to the Reich Labor Administration in the Reich Labor Ministry and in 1927 director of the employment agency and career counseling department at the Reichsanstalt für Arbeitsvermittlungs und Arbeitslosversicherung . In 1933 she was reassigned and left office voluntarily. From 1934 she worked as treasurer in the Catholic German Women's Association .

She was a member of the German Center Party . From 1920 to 1925 she was a member of the city ​​council of Berlin . In 1945 she was a co-founder of the CDU in Berlin . From 1946 to 1949 she was a councilor for social affairs in the Berlin magistrate and, in October 1948, for work. From 1946 to January 1947 she was a member of the city council of Greater Berlin and from February 1952 to 1958 a member of the House of Representatives .
