Mary Assumption into Heaven (Roth)
The Catholic parish church of Mary Assumption in Heaven is the parish church of the parish of Roth . She is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary into heaven .
history
In 1877 Roth was separated from Schwabach as a branch . In 1891 planning for the church began. The church was consecrated on November 13, 1898. The parish of Roth was founded in 1910. In 1937 Büchenbach and Georgensgmünd were separated and raised to separate parishes.
The extension building was inaugurated on December 4, 1966. This was built on the west side. A gallery with an organ was built into the former choir room and the main entrance below it. The old neo-Gothic high altar from 1913 was lost. A folk altar from Italian Nagelfluh was set up on the east wall. For this purpose, the windows in the east wall were bricked up. The chairs were oriented in a semicircle towards the main altar.
In 1998 a Gothic arch was placed behind the altar in the church to show the orientation of the room.
In 2007, hurricane Kyrill damaged the church roof and rain penetrated the organ. Then, until 2012, the Marien altar was set up in the old choir room for weekday masses and the gallery and the entrance below it were removed. The organ was placed on the opposite north wall of the church.
Altars
The main altar is made of Italian Nagelfluh. A large bronze cross hovers above it. Behind it is a tabernacle on the right and the ambo on the left . On the wall are figures of St. Willibald and St. Walburga , which date from around 1700.
Mary Altar and Cross Altar
In 1875 the Roth parish bought two Gothic altars (around 1500) from Rednitzhembach . These were erected as side altars after the church was built.
The Marien Altar shows St. Lorenz and St. Sebald on the inside and the Annunciation on the outside . In the middle is a figure of Mary and above it an Anna herself, the third . In 2010 the altar was placed in the former choir room to be used for weekday masses. For this he received the tabernacle from the cross altar.
The cross altar shows St. Helena and St. Maria Magdalena outside , inside Emperor Constantine , the cross rehearsal , handover of the city key to Emperor Constantine and Herakleios carrying the cross . The figures in the middle represent Barbara , Helena and Elisabeth . He is to the left of the organ.
Bells
The Klaus Brothers foundry from Heidingsfeld cast four bells with the striking tones e ', f sharp', g sharp 'and h'. In 1917, all bells were melted down except for the smallest bell.
On March 11, 1924, today's bells were commissioned from the Bochumer Verein and installed in the bell cage on August 16, 1924.
