Christensen played for Team Viborg until 2012 and then moved to the first division club Fortuna Hjørring . With the club she won the Danish championship in 2013/2014, 2015/2016 and 2017/2018 and the cup in 2015/16 and 2018/19. But she only had a few missions.

At European level, she made her first appearance in the goal of Fortuna on September 26, 2012 in a 2-1 win at Glasgow City LFC in the round of 32 of the 2012/13 UEFA Women's Champions League . When she went 0-0 in the second leg, she remained without conceding a goal for the first time and thus secured a place in the second round. There they were eliminated as in the previous year against Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC . In the 2013/14 UEFA Women's Champions League , the trip through Europe also ended in the round of 16 in Sweden, this time against Tyresö FF . The Swedish round of 16 curse continued the following season , this time they lost 2-1 and 2-0 to FC Rosengård , where u. a. the German national player Anja Mittag and the former Brazilian world footballer Marta played and each scored a goal against the Danes. Due to a serious head injury, however, it was only used in the 6-0 win in the round of 32 against Atlético Ouriense . Also in the 2015/16 season Fortuna was eliminated in the round of 16, this time against the Italian runner-up ACF Brescia , although she did not appear in CL this season. In the next season she was used again in all games and was able to help to return the favor to the Italians and win the round of 16 games 1-0 and 3-1. The end came in the quarter-finals against Manchester City with two 0-1 defeats. 2017/18 ended in the sixteenth-finals, this time after a 1: 2 away defeat and a goalless draw in the home game against Fiorentina . In total, she made 17 appearances in the Champions League for Fortuna Hjørring in six seasons.

For the 2019/20 season she moved to FC Nordsjælland , who founded a women's team together with Farum BK in 2017 and is now playing in the top division for the first time. In the first 14 games of the season, however, Kathrine Larsen was in goal, but she moved to the Swedish club Djurgårdens IF in January 2020 .

National teams

On May 15 and 17, 2010 she came to her first appearances in the Danish U-16 team in two friendly matches against Sweden, which were lost 2-1 and 3-1. In July she took part in the Nordic Cup in her home country with the team . After two friendly matches with the U-17 team in September against Scotland, which were lost 4-0 and 0-1, they took part in the first round of qualifying for the 2011 U-17 European Championship in Hungary in October . With three wins, the Danes qualified for the second qualifying round and on October 15th they conceded 6-0 against Moldova for the first time in the national dress. In the spring of 2011, the second qualifying round took place in Denmark. Here they could not fully use the home advantage, because after the first two victories they lost the decisive last game against record European champions Germany with 0: 3. In July she took part in the Nordic Cup again with the U-16 team, this time in Finland . In autumn, they played in the first qualifying round for the U-17 European Championship 2012 , where they qualified for the second round in Serbia . This took place in their home country in spring 2012 and this time they were able to use the home advantage and qualify for the final round. In June she was only used in the semi-finals, which were lost 2-0 to Germany. This ended her time in the U16 / 17 teams. In the game for third place, Naja Bahrenscheer was in the goal of the U-17 team for the first time .

Previously, on March 31, 2012, she made her first appearance for the U-19 team in the second qualifying round for the 2012 U-19 European Women's Football Championship . With two wins and one defeat, they qualified because of the more goals scored as the best runner-up in the group for the finals. This took place a few days after the lost semi-finals of the U-17 European Championship and it ensured that her team reached the knockout round with three 1-0 wins. Here, however, they lost 3-1 to later European champions Sweden. In the two successful qualifying rounds for the U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2013 , she made five appearances, three times without conceding a goal. At the finals in Wales she only stayed 1-0 in the first game against the hosts without conceding a goal, the other two games against France and England were lost, so that they were eliminated as third in the group. She was then used in two games in the first qualifying round for the 2014 U-19 European Women's Football Championship , in the other game Naja Bahrenscheer was in goal, who then played all three games in the second qualifying round. Christensen then said goodbye to the U-19 team on March 8, 2014 with a first-half appearance at a tournament in La Manga against France. In 22 games she had been clean eleven times.

However, she had to wait until August 20, 2016 for her next appearance in the national dress due to a head injury. It was one for the U-23 team against Finland. She was replaced at halftime when the score was 4: 0, the goal conceded to make the final score 5: 1 only fell in the 90th minute.

Her first appearance in the senior national team was on October 22nd, 2016 at the Sincere Cup 2016 against Iceland , where she played for over 90 minutes and stayed 1-0 without conceding a goal. She was then not nominated for the Algarve Cup 2017 , but in June 2017 for the European Championship finals 2017 , where she was the player in the squad with the fewest A-internationals. It was not used at the European Championships, which the Danes finished second
