Marie Jung (* 1985 in Dudelange , Luxembourg ) is a German-speaking theater and film actress of Luxembourgish and Swiss nationality.

Life

Marie Jung grew up in Basel . From 2005 to 2009 she completed her acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . In 2008 she played Julia at the Bad Hersfeld Festival under the direction of Arie Zinger .

In 2009 she worked with Ruedi Häusermann on the opera project "Randolphs Erben", a co-production of the Schauspielhaus Zurich and the State Opera Stuttgart . After graduating, Marie Jung worked as an actress in the ensemble of the Basel Theater (2009–2012), while Johan Simons was director of the Münchner Kammerspiele (2012–2015). She has been a member of the ensemble at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg since 2015 . She is the daughter of the actor André Jung and the sister of the visual artist Sophie Jung and granddaughter of the artist Germaine Hoffmann and the writer Léopold Hoffmann . Marie Jung has been married to the actor Kristof Van Boven since 2017 , with whom she has a daughter.
