Marius Holtet (born August 31, 1984 in Hamar ) is a former Norwegian ice hockey player who was twice Swedish champion with Färjestad BK from the Elitserien . He also spent four seasons with the Houston Eros and the Iowa Stars in the American Hockey League .
Career
Marius Holtet began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the Swedish first division club Färjestad BK , in which he was active until 2002. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2002 in the second round as a total of 42nd player by the Dallas Stars . Initially, however, the attacker played for Bofors IK in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan for two years .
In the summer of 2004, the Norwegian moved to North America and played in the 2004/05 season for the Dallas farm team from the American Hockey League , the Houston Eros and for their cooperation partner from the ECHL , the Louisiana Ice Gators . In the following two seasons, the right-shooter was not used for Dallas in the National Hockey League . Instead, he played for their new AHL farm team, the Iowa Stars .
In the summer of 2008 Holtet returned to Färjestad BK, for whom he was already active in his youth, and won the Swedish championship for the first time in his career in the 2008/09 season . He was able to repeat this success with his team in 2011.
On December 30, 2013 Holtet suffered a concussion during a body check in the game against Leksands IF, as a result of which he could no longer play a game. In December 2015, the center announced its retirement.
International
For Norway , Holtet took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in 2001 and 2002 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2002 , 2003 and 2004 .
In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Cup in 2003 and the A World Cup in 2006 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 . He also played for Norway at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
