Mark Daniel Cullen (born October 28, 1978 in Virginia , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Dresden Ice Lions from the DEL2 .

Career

Mark Cullen began his career as a hockey player with the Fargo-Moorhead Ice Sharks, for which he was active in the junior league United States Hockey League in the 1997/98 season . There he was voted into the all-rookie team and rookie of the year . He then attended Colorado College for four years , for whose ice hockey team he played parallel in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association . He also received several individual awards during his college years.

In April 2002 the center signed a contract as a free agent with the Minnesota Wild from the National Hockey League , but in the following three years it was used exclusively for their farm team Houston Eros in the American Hockey League , with whom he worked in the 2002 / 03 won the Calder Cup . He then moved to the Chicago Blackhawks , for whom he scored seven goals and nine assists in the NHL in the 2005/06 season in 29 games. Again he played mostly in the AHL, where he was on the ice for Chicago's Norfolk Admirals farm team . As a player in the Admirals, he received the Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award for exemplary sportiness.

In the 2006/07 season he ran three times for the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL, but was again almost exclusively in the AHL with their farm team Philadelphia Phantoms for use. In the following years he was each a year in the AHL for the Grand Rapids Griffins , Manitoba Moose , Rockford IceHogs , Rochester Americans and San Antonio Rampage on the ice. During his time with the Rampage, he also came back to six missions for their cooperation partner Florida Panthers in the NHL in the 2011/12 season . For the 2012/13 season , the American was committed by Vitjas Chekhov from the Continental Hockey League . After 23 KHL games in which he reached a scorer point, the contract was dissolved in December 2012. A few days later, Cullen was signed by EC Red Bull Salzburg and scored 8 goals and 16 assists in 31 games in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL). In July 2013 he extended his contract for one year. A year later he moved to HC Bozen within the EBEL .

In September 2015, after Marcel Rodman's failure, Cullen was signed by the Dresdner Eislöwen from the DEL2 and was one of the top performers at the Eislöwen. After the 2015/16 season, he received no new contract and left the club.

International

For the USA , Cullen took part in the 2006 World Cup. During the tournament he scored one goal and two assists in seven games.

Mark Cullen comes from a family with a long history of ice hockey. His brothers Joe and Matt are also professional ice hockey players. Her grandfather Barry , her uncle John, and great uncles Brian and Ray were also professional ice hockey players.
