The Marteller Hütte is a refuge in the Martell Valley in the South Tyrolean part of the Ortler Alps . It is owned by the Martell section of the South Tyrol Alpine Club .
Location and surroundings
The Marteller Hut is located at an altitude of 2585 m at the end of the Martell Valley, a southern side valley of the Vinschgau . It is located a little above the Zufallhütte in the area of the municipality of Martell in the Stilfserjoch National Park .
The hut is a starting point for tours to the mountains of the Martell main ridge in the south, such as the Köllkuppe , the Veneziaspitzen , the Zufallspitzen and the Monte Cevedale . To the east you reach the Vordere Rotspitze . A path leads west over the Eisseepass into the Suldental .
history
The Marteller Hut was built in 1980 by the Alpine Association of South Tyrol. The sections Mals , Vinschgau, Untervinschgau, Martell and Lana were involved . In the years 2006–2007 an extension took place as part of a renovation.
Access
The hut can be reached from the parking lot in Hintermartell in approx. 2 hours with an ascent of 530 meters.
