The Düsseldorfer Hütte ( Italian Rifugio Serristori ) - also Zaytalhütte - is a refuge in the Ortler Alps in South Tyrol .
Location and surroundings
The hut is located at an altitude of 2721 m in the Zaytal, which flows into the Sulden valley and, like the entire area , is protected in the Stilfserjoch National Park . It is located northeast of the village of Sulden , which belongs to the municipality of Stilfs , and is where the simplest approaches begin.
To the east leads from the Düsseldorfer Hütte an ascent (partly with a via ferrata) to the Hohen Angelus . To the north you reach the Tschenglser Hochwand , to the northeast the Schafberg , the Zayjoch and the Kleiner Angelus . Finally, to the west, a trail leads over the Hintere and Vordere Schöneck to the Kälberalm and on towards Sulden.
history
The hut was built in 1892 by the DuOeAV's Düsseldorf section . After the First World War it was expropriated and given to the Florence Section of the CAI , which named it after its member Alfredo Serristori who had died in the accident. In 1928 the Milan section took over the refuge and in 1991 initiated a comprehensive redesign with the active help of the operating family.
Together with 24 other shelters expropriated by the state, the Düsseldorfer Hütte became the property of the Autonomous Province of Bozen - South Tyrol in 1999; At the end of 2010, the license for their management by the CAI expired. Since 2015, the state of South Tyrol has been supported in the management of the hut (assignment to tenants, supervision of management, renovation measures) by a joint commission, in which the AVS and CAI are represented in addition to the public sector .
