Maskoe is a German rapper from Hamburg . He is the owner of the SK Entertainment label , which was a sub-label of Wolfpack Entertainment from 2014 to 2016 .

Career

Maskoe grew up under simple circumstances in Neugraben in the south of Hamburg. He began listening to hip-hop at the age of fourteen , with artists from the Golden Era such as Busta Rhymes , Tupac Shakur and The Notorious BIG being a major influence. His first own recordings followed at the age of seventeen, focusing primarily on the style of battle rap . The rapper worked mainly with his childhood friends Farhot and Syndicate, who later celebrated success as hip-hop producers, as well as the graphic artist Adopekid. In 2002 Maskoe took part in a song competition organized by the music broadcaster VIVA Germany and the social organization Aktion Mensch . He was able to win this with the song Mein Respekt , whereupon he was allowed to appear in the support program of Kool Savas , Curse , Fettes Brot and Gentleman as part of the Beats 4 Life benefit festival on World AIDS Day . Maskoe was interviewed on site by the music journalist Falk Schacht for the program Mixery Raw Deluxe . After broadcasting the conversation, Stefan Raab showed excerpts from it on his TV show TV total and mocked the rapper. Maskoe then withdrew from the hip-hop scene for several years, while doing his Abitur and a degree in business administration , which he completed with a bachelor's degree. From 2006 some so-called free tracks followed, which Maskoe offered free of charge. Among these were the song Die Konsequenz , a collaboration with the rapper Swiss , and the piece Meine Stadt , which Maskoe recorded with Xatar , Automatikk , Jeyz , Juvel and Manuellsen . In the summer of 2009, Maskoe took part in the online television format Halt die Fresse on the Aggro.TV channel . In 2012 he appeared again in the online series.

At the beginning of 2012 Maskoe released the street tape Maskoekain for free download . The rappers SK Ekrem, Faro, Shako, Nayla and Marc Reis are represented as guest musicians. M3 and KD-Supier , among others, were involved in the production. The song Habibi was released as a video release . From 2013, Maskoe was to be heard as a guest rapper on the albums of other hip-hop musicians. He was present on Play My Beatz by PMB, Eksodus by Eko Fresh and Hoodrich by Said. In March 2014, Maskoe signed a contract with Wolfpack Entertainment with his label SK Entertainment , through which his company will appear as a sub-label in the future. On November 7, 2014, his debut album One Man Show was released . In addition to Maskoe, Eko Fresh , Nneka , Bintia , Teesy , Manuellsen and Shako can also be heard with guest contributions. With Kanacken from Germany , Bang and Zu mir , in which the comedian Enissa Amani plays a leading role, as well as One Man Show , four songs were implemented as a music video. In the summer of 2016, Maskoe parted with his label SK Entertainment by Wolfpack Entertainment . On September 13, 2016, the 20th anniversary of the death of the American rapper Tupac Shakur , Maskoe released the EP OG . For this, the rapper orientated himself stylistically on the hip-hop music of the 1990s. In addition to Emos, Shako, Niqo Nuevo and Moe Mitchell , the American BG Knocc Out is also represented as a guest musician on the EP.
