Max Schröder grew up near Oldenburg . Even as a schoolboy he played in various bands. In the late 1980s he was a singer and guitarist in the punk and hardcore bands Youth Tribe (later Bandit Jazz ), Queerfish and Jaildog , until he finally met his neighbor Oliver Schulz in Hamburg in 2003 .

Olli Schulz and Max Schröder

Together with Schulz he forms the band Olli Schulz and the dog Marie . Two albums were released on the Hamburg label Grand Hotel van Cleef (GHvC), the third album Warten auf den Boomerang was released in November 2006 on the major label Labels ( EMI Group ). Since he didn't have the time to record his fourth album Es brennt so schön in 2008 , Olli Schulz published it alone; Schröder only worked as a guest singer in the choir for the song " Mach den Bibo ", which was also released as a single.

The Grand Hotel van Cleef Schröder learned the band Tomte to Thees Uhlmann know and worked as a live musician for the band. Max Schröder has been a permanent member of Tomte since 2005. There he initially played alternately keyboard , percussion and guitar , after Timo Bodenstein's departure in 2008 mainly drums. He was also involved in the album “ Letters over the City” , which was released in early 2006 and entered the charts at number 4. The album Heureka was released on October 10, 2008 and reached number 9 in the German album charts. Since Tomte singer Thees Uhlmann began his solo career in 2010, the band is no longer active.

In the fictitious documentation No songs about love of Lars Kraume he played in 2005 the drummer of Hansen Band . He also played the drums on the album No Songs About Love by the Hansen Band, which was released parallel to the film, and contributed three of his own songs. In 2008 he also had a short appearance as a street musician in the film Berlin am Meer and worked on the soundtrack for the films In July and Sister Heart .

In September 2006 his first solo album hooligans & tiny hands was released . He wrote and recorded the album entirely by himself. Schröder is also the drummer for the musician and producer Walter Schreifels . Since 2011 Schröder has also been part of the project Die Höchste Eisenbahn of the two singers Francesco Wilking (singer of the band Tele ) and Moritz Krämer ; He has also been playing the drums for the German soul singer Leslie Clio since 2012 .

In February 2013 his second solo album was released under the name Max Schröder & das Love , whereby the accompanying band was also recruited from various musicians in Schröder's environment: Felix Gebhard (Home of the Lame, Hansen Band), Dennis Becker (Tomte), Jan Burkamp and Marcus Schneider .
