Maxime Pellegrims (born January 8, 1993 in Antwerp ) is a Belgian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Eaters Geleen in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League since 2017 . His uncle Mike was also a Belgian international.

Career

Maxime Pellegrims comes from the youth department of the Düsseldorfer EG , for which he played one and a half years in the German junior league. In the middle of the 2009/10 season he moved to his native Antwerp to join the Phantoms Antwerp in the Belgian honor division . In 2013 he went to league competitor and current Belgian national champion IHC Leuven , with whom he failed in the playoff semifinals at the White Caps Turnhout . He then left Leuven after a year and joined the HYC Herentals , currently the strongest Belgian club, for which he was on the ice in the honor division of neighboring Netherlands. But after a year he returned to Leuven and played the following two years with the club in the newly founded Belgian-Dutch BeNe League . In 2017 he moved to league competitor Eaters Geleen .

International

For Belgium, Pellegrims took part in the junior division of the 2011 U18 World Cup , when he was voted best player on his team, and the 2010 , 2011 and 2012 U20 World Cup in Division II. At the U18 World Cup in 2011 and the U20 World Cup in 2012, he was the captain of the Belgian youth team.

For the men's national team , Pellegrims played for the first time at the 2014 World Cup in Division II and was immediately voted the best player of his team. Also in 2015 , 2016 , when he was again voted best player in the Belgian selection, in 2017 and 2018 he played with Belgium in Division II.
