The Meirother Kopf and Tiefenstein nature reserve is located in the Ahrweiler district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 98 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1986 , extends west of the local community of Wehr , directly on the B 412 , which passes on the southwestern edge . The state road L 114 crosses the area, further to the east the A 61 runs .
The protection purpose is the preservation of the area for scientific and cultural reasons because of its geological composition and because of its landscape-defining, special landscape beauty and character.
