Gauge head
Lehrenkopf is a nature reserve in the Ahrweiler district in northern Rhineland-Palatinate .
It has a size of approx. 46 hectares and is located in the municipal areas of Kempenich (east and north of the Engeln district) and Brenk (west and south of the Fußhölle district). The nature reserve takes its name from the 496 meter high mountain Lehrenkopf to the east of Engeln.
The protective purpose is to preserve the head of the teaching for scientific and cultural reasons:
"Because of its geological nature, as a habitat of rare wild plant species and plant communities that are threatened in their existence, and because of its particular scenic beauty and uniqueness that determine the landscape."
The nature reserve was designated by the Koblenz district government by ordinance of September 20, 1989.
