Career
In the 1998/99 second division season , Hackert laced up his skates for the first time in professional ice hockey for the Iserlohner EC . There he also spent most of his youth. In 2000 the striker returned to his hometown Heilbronn for two seasons and played there for the Heilbronn EC . In the 2002/03 season he was on the ice for a total of three clubs. The left shooter first played for the DEG Metro Stars , where he made his DEL debut, in November 2002 Michael Hackert moved to EV Duisburg for only four games and finally ended his season at ERC Ingolstadt . For the 2003/04 season , the attacker signed a contract with the Frankfurt Lions . In the same year he was the first German champion with the club from Hessen .
In 2005 Hackert accepted an offer from the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. In the USA , however, the striker was only used in the Red Wings farm team , the Grand Rapids Griffins , in the American Hockey League , which is why he returned to Frankfurt after a short time.
Hackert's brothers Oliver and Axel also play ice hockey, Axel has even played with Michael at Adler Mannheim since the 2008/09 season . Despite a contract until 2012, Michael Hackert's contract was prematurely terminated after the 2009/10 season . For the 2010/11 season he signed a two-year contract with the Frankfurt Lions, but could not fulfill this due to the Lions' bankruptcy.
