- Berlin / Germany : The Prime Minister of Saxony-Anhalt Wolfgang Böhmer ( CDU) takes up his post as President of the Federal Council . Böhmer is the first Federal Council President appointed by the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
- London / United Kingdom : The trial in the High Court of Justice of the former butler of Princess Diana , the late wife of the heir to the throne of the British monarchy , collapses when it turns out that the accused Paul Burrell was the regent Elizabeth II in a previously unmentioned conversation . informed of having personal belongings of Diana. The public prosecutor's office held the items for looted property.
Monday 4th November 2002
- London / United Kingdom : The non-profit organization Amnesty International released a 74-page report on war crimes and violations of human rights by the Israeli Defense Forces in Jenin and Nablus .
Tuesday 5th November 2002
- Jerusalem / Israel : Parliament is being dissolved and will be re-elected shortly .
- Washington, DC / United States : In the mid-term mid-term election of 43rd President George W. Bush ( Republican Party ), Republicans win a majority of the seats in the Senate and House elections . In the Senate there was previously a one-vote majority of the Democrats.
Wednesday November 6, 2002
- Niederanven / Luxembourg : A Fokker 50 aircraft of the Luxair airline disappears from the radar while approaching Luxembourg Airport and crashes into a field near Niederanven. 20 of the 22 inmates die as a result of the accident.
- Schwerin / Germany : The state parliament re- elects Prime Minister Harald Ringstorff ( SPD ) , who has been in office since 1998, as head of government in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
Thursday November 7, 2002
- Gibraltar : The administration of the overseas territory of the United Kingdom has the population vote in a non-binding referendum on whether they should start negotiations on the division of sovereignty between the United Kingdom and its immediate neighbor, Spain . A large majority is against the division. In its current constitution, Gibraltar is a so-called “ tax haven ”.

- Cologne / Germany : The broadcaster RTL starts broadcasting the first season of the format Deutschland sucht den Superstar , an offshoot of the British program Pop Idol .
Friday November 15, 2002
- Beijing / China : Hu Jintao is elected General Secretary of the CCP at the Communist Party conference .
- Santiago / Chile : The 12th Conference on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora adopts restrictions on trade in the whale shark , the largest fish in the world, and the basking shark . In the future, trading nations will have to comply with regulations that help ensure the continued existence of fish.

- Ankara / Turkey : The President of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Necdet Sezer appoints Abdullah Gül of the Justice and Recovery Party founded in August 2001 as the country's new Prime Minister .

- Kiev / Ukraine : The newly created Party of Regions provides the new Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych . He succeeds Anatoly Kinach from the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
Friday November 22, 2002
- Canberra / Australia : Despite the great geographical distance, Australia ratifies the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education in the European Region , with which higher education entrance qualifications and university degrees are mutually recognized in all contracting states.
Sunday November 24, 2002
- Vienna / Austria : The early National Council election ends with a victory for the ÖVP and a debacle for the FPÖ . The ÖVP has increased by more than 15% compared to 1999 . In contrast, the vote share of their former coalition partner FPÖ falls by almost 17% to around 10%. This time the SPÖ becomes the second strongest force with around 37% of the votes.

- Washington, DC / United States : US President George W. Bush signs the Homeland Security Act to create a department to protect the population from terrorism in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks .
