Michael Müller (born September 19, 1984 in Würzburg ) is a German handball player . His position is the right back space .

In his youth he was active at HaSpo Bayreuth, with whom he won 3rd place at the German A Youth Championships in 2003. From 2006 he played for three years for Bundesliga club TV Großwallstadt . In 2009 he went to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen , with whom he reached the semi-finals in the EHF Champions League 2010/11 and the EHF Cup 2011/12 . In the 2012/13 season he played for HSG Wetzlar . On March 20, 2008, he played his first national team game at the four-country tournament in Innsbruck, scoring his first goal. At the 2009 World Cup in Croatia, he reached 5th place. So far, Müller has played 78 international matches for the German national team .

In Melsungen, Müller played together with his twin brother Philipp , as he did in Wetzlar and until 2008 in Großwallstadt. On September 1, 2007, both brothers played together for the first time in a Bundesliga match against THW Kiel . From 2013 to 2019 he played in the handball Bundesliga for MT Melsungen , with whom he reached the Final Four in the DHB Cup in 2014 . In 2014/15 and 2016/17 he played with MT in the EHF Cup .

Müller moved to Füchsen Berlin in summer 2019 and signed a two-year contract. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , his contract was prematurely terminated in May 2020.

Müller is in a relationship with handball player Kaja Schmäschke .
