Mihaela Ungureanu-Binder

Mihaela Gabriela Ungureanu-Binder (born September 12, 1964 in Brașov ) is a Romanian opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Career

Ungureanu-Binder studied piano at the music high school in Bucharest , made his debut at the age of 15 with the concert piece for piano and orchestra in F minor op. 79 J. 282 by Carl Maria von Weber in Brașov and received second prize at the age of 16 at the International Piano Competition in Great Britain . She went on to study singing at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca , which she successfully completed in 1994. She made her operatic debut as Fenena in “ Nabucco ” by Giuseppe Verdi .

From 1987 to 1989 she was a member of the ensemble at the Constanța Opera and from 1993 to 1995 she was permanently engaged at the Cluj-Napoca Opera.

The artist first made a guest appearance at the Vienna Volksoper before she was engaged as a permanent member of the ensemble from 1995 to 2004 at the Vienna State Opera .

Guest performances have taken the singer to Cologne , Karlsruhe , Tokyo and the Bavarian State Opera , where she made her debut as Suzuki in Puccini's " Madama Butterfly ". At the Brucknerhaus Linz she took part in a concert performance of “ Parsifal ” and made her debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as La Cieca in “ La Gioconda ” by Ponchielli .

Ungureanu-Binder completed the last guest contracts in Bozen , Modena , Piacenza , Montpellier , Mannheim , Arad , Regensburg and in her native city Brașov .
