Michael "Mike" Leclerc (* 10. November 1976 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player , who during his playing career from 1992 to 2006 among other 367 games for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , Phoenix Coyotes and Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League on the position of the left winger .
Career
Mike Leclerc began his career in 1992 with the Victoria Cougars in the Western Hockey League . In 1994 the team was renamed Prince George Cougars and relocated to Prince George , British Columbia . Mike Leclerc didn't even play a full season in Prince George, he switched to the Brandon Wheat Kings , who also played in the WHL. In the 1995 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim . Between 1996 and 1999 he was mainly used in the farm team of the Ducks, the Baltimore Bandits and the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks . He completed only 19 games in the regular season and two in the playoffs for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim by 1999.
From 1999 Leclerc played with strong performances in the team of the Ducks. By 2004 he was used in almost 300 games for the Ducks. He scored 142 points at the Ducks in just under four years. In the 2001/02 season he was used in all 82 regular season games for the Ducks. It was his best season in the NHL with 44 points. At the beginning of the 2005/06 season , the Ducks transferred him to the Phoenix Coyotes . There he played 35 games before he was given to the Calgary Flames on February 1, 2006 with Brian Boucher for Philippe Sauvé and Steven Reinprecht . After fifteen games with the Flames, he ended his career at the end of the season.
