Attractions

Well known is the Rueda de Alcantarilla water wheel , which has been declared a Bien de Interés Cultural . The Museo Etnológico de Alcantarilla and a public city library are also nearby .

Military airfield

In the district of Sangonera la Seca there is a smaller military airfield of the Spanish Air Force ( Ejército del Aire ) , the Base Aérea de Alcantarilla . In addition to a few non-flying units, the only flying formation here is the Escuadrón 721 equipped with CASA C-212 .
