Mittelsteinach (Franconian: Mittlstanna ) is a district of the community Münchsteinach in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim .

geography

The village lies on the Steinach , which is a left tributary of the Aisch , and on the Fichtelgraben, which flows there as a left tributary into the Steinach. The Steinberg rises in the southeast. The state road 2259 leads to Obersteinbach (1.5 km northwest) or past the Weihermühle to Münchsteinach (3 km southeast). The state road 2256 leading to Rossbach (1.5 km south-east) or at the Undungsmühle over after Abtsgreuth (km northwest 0.9).

The place was first mentioned in 1494 as "Mittelstainbach".

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 9 properties in Mittelsteinach (1 Hube , 1 Hof, 1 Mühle, 2 Halbhuben, 1 Häckersgut, 3 Sölden ). The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city ​​bailiff Neustadt an der Aisch . The Brandenburg-Bayreuth Monastery Office Münchsteinach held the village and community rulership and the land rulership over all properties .

As part of the community edict , Mittelsteinach was assigned to the Münchsteinach tax district formed in 1811, and from 1813 it belonged to the Münchsteinach rural community . With the second community edict (1818) it was re-incorporated into the newly formed Abtsgreuth rural community . On January 1, 1972, Mittelsteinach was incorporated into Münchsteinach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

  • House No. 15: Sheep farm with blacksmith shop. Second half of the 18th century. Single-storey pitched roof house, extended backwards. East gable with half-timbering (St. Andrew's cross) exposed, otherwise plastered. Bell tower on two posts, small onion.
