history

The place was first mentioned on August 6, 1096 in a document from the Bamberg Monastery as "Altolveshusen". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Altolf or Althold. It can be assumed that the place was founded in the 9th century. Altolf von Castell may have been the founder of the place. With the establishment of the Münchsteinach monastery in 1102, the place was assigned to it, after its dissolution in 1530 it was subordinate to the margravial monastery office of Münchsteinach .

At the end of the 18th century there were 22 properties in Altershausen. The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth City Bailiff's office in Neustadt an der Aisch , but this was disputed by the Castellschen Cent Burghaslach . The Brandenburg-Bayreuth Monastery Office Münchaurach held the village and community rulership . The landlords were the Münchaurach monastery office (18 properties: 2 lifts , 1 courtyard, 1 mill, 6 half-lifts, 1 quarter-lift, 3 Sölden , 1 drip house ) and the parish of Burghaslach (church, school, 2 estates).

In 1810 Altershausen came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Altershausen was assigned to the Schornweisach tax district in 1811 . In 1813 it was assigned to the rural community of Schornweisach. With the second community edict (1818) the rural community Altershausen was formed, to which the cutting mill belonged. It was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1920 to Finanzamt Neustadt an der Aisch ). On August 4, 1823, Hombeer was reassigned to Altershausen. From 1862, Altershausen was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office ( renamed Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch until 1879, from 1880 district court Neustadt an der Aisch . The municipality had an area of 11,352 km².

On January 1, 1972, the community of Altershausen was dissolved: Altershausen and cutting mill were incorporated into Münchsteinach, Hombeer to Markt Taschendorf .
