history

The place was first mentioned by name in the 14th century as "Kienblat" or "Kunplat". The place name means Zur Platte (= area) where pine trees (= pines ) stand . From the 17th century, the current shape was also in use, which then prevailed in the 19th century. In 1303 and 1307 the village and the tithe were given to Conrad and Johannes of Paris as a Würzburg fief . The burgraviate of Nuremberg was feudal lord over the tithes of the new clearings . In 1305 they awarded this to the Lords of Vestenberg . In the middle of the 15th century, the castle counts were transferred to the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Kulmbach . These comprised three Sölden , one of which could not be sold at the time and was in desolation. After the Thirty Years War the place had to be rebuilt. At the end of the 18th century, the margraviate held the village and community rulership over the office of Dachsbach . The high court exercised the Castellsche Cent Burghaslach, which was also the landlord in the place. Another landlord were the Counts of Schönborn .

As part of the municipal edict, Kienfeld was assigned to the Breitenlohe tax district formed in 1808, and then to the newly formed Kleinweisach tax district in 1810 . In 1818 the rural community Kleinweisach was formed, to which the place belonged. In the voluntary jurisdiction, five properties were subordinate to the Pommersfelden Patrimonial Court (until 1848) and ten properties to the Burghaslach Lordship Court (until 1849).

On January 1, 1972, Kienfeld was incorporated into the newly formed community of Weisachgrund as part of the regional reform . This was incorporated into the Vestenbergsgreuth market on May 1, 1978 .
