Oberwinterbach is a district of the Vestenbergsgreuth market in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Oberwinterbach , which is a right tributary of the Kleine Weisach , flows through the village . A forest area borders in the northeast. There are the Hirschberg ( 367  m above sea level ) and Kaisberg elevations . In the west there is arable land and grassland with a few trees and a larger solar system.

history

In 1317 the place was mentioned in the Würzburg Lehenbuch . There were tithe shares issued to Friedrich Swimmer as a fief. Furthermore, Lorenz von Maienthal was enfeoffed with an estate, as can be seen from a document from 1476. In 1389 a Fritz Brueler undertook to give annual validity to the church in Lonnerstadt and the Antoniuskapelle zu Laub . In 1645 the place burned down as a result of a meadow fire. There were pitch ovens in the village for the production of wood tar and wood vinegar . In 1802 the place belonged to the Neustädter Kreis of the Prussian administrative area Ansbach-Bayreuth .

In 1806 Oberwinterbach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, it was assigned to the Breitenlohe tax district formed in 1808, and then to the Dutendorf tax district in 1810 . In 1818 the rural community Oberwinterbach was formed, to which the places Dutendorf and Ochsenschenkel belonged. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the regional court of Höchstadt and in financial administration to the Rent Office of Höchstadt . In 1827 the community had 251 inhabitants. In 1838 Oberwinterbach was incorporated into the community of Kleinweisach with ox legs , while Dutendorf continued to be a community.

On January 1, 1972, Oberwinterbach was incorporated into the newly formed community of Weisachgrund as part of the regional reform . This was incorporated into the Vestenbergsgreuth market on May 1, 1978 .

Since the Reformation the place has been predominantly Protestant and parish to St. Marien (Kleinweisach) . The inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish after the exaltation of the cross (Breitenlohe) .

The district road ERH 19 / district road NEA 3 runs to Dutendorf (1 km southeast) or past Ochsenschenkel to Gleißenberg (3 km north). A communal road runs to Burgweisach (1.2 km southwest).
