Pretzdorf is a district of the market Vestenbergsgreuth in the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet with church is located on the north bank of the Kleine Weisach . In the north, arable land and grassland border, in the north-west called Hanfgrund . In the south beyond the Kleine Weisach there is a forest area on a hill, a foothill of the Steigerwald . Approx. 1 km southwest there is the Märzenberg elevation ( 378  m above sea level ).

history

The place was possibly mentioned in 1152 as "Breezendorf". In 1311 the Ebrach monastery acquired property in the village. In 1482 the Katharinenkirche was built, which was donated by the Nuremberg patricians Rieter . In 1801 there were Nuremberg and Castell-Remlingian subjects in the village . At that time the place belonged to the Neustädter Kreis of the Prussian administrative area of Ansbach-Bayreuth .

As part of the municipal edict, Pretzdorf was assigned to the Breitenlohe tax district formed in 1808, and then to the newly formed Kleinweisach tax district in 1810 . In 1818 the rural community Kleinweisach was formed, to which the place belonged. Four properties were subject to voluntary jurisdiction by the Castell Patrimonial Court in Pretzdorf (1820–1828).

On January 1, 1972, Pretzdorf was incorporated into the newly formed community of Weisachgrund as part of the regional reform . This was incorporated into the Vestenbergsgreuth market on May 1, 1978 .

Since the Reformation the place has been predominantly Protestant and parish to St. Marien (Kleinweisach) . The inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish after the exaltation of the cross (Breitenlohe) .

The district road ERH 18 / NEA 5 runs to Hombeer to state road 2256 (1 km west) or to Kleinweisach (1.6 km east).
