Frickenhöchstadt is a district of the market Vestenbergsgreuth in the Central Franconian district of Erlangen-Höchstadt .

geography

The village is secluded in a hilly location in the middle of a forest clearing. In the northeast the forest area is called Höfisches Holz , in the southeast Distelteich and Kleiner Winterbachwald . The Unterwinterbach rises northwest of the village and is a left tributary of the Kleine Weisach . The Hirschberg ( 367  m above sea level ) is located about one kilometer to the southwest .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1313 as "Frickenhofstetten". The defining word of the place name is Fricko, the personal name of the place founder. Farms were used to describe goods that were about a quarter of a hoof in size . It was only later that “Hofstatt” was adapted to the form of the name “Höchstadt”. The most important landlord in the Middle Ages was probably the Ebrach monastery . In 1416 it sold its goods and rights, with the exception of the tithe, to the Nuremberg patrician Peter Rieter , who in 1418 sold his claims to the Nuremberg Götz Pfann. The place was until the end of the Old Kingdom in the high court area of the Castellschen Centamt Burghaslach .

In 1806 Frickenhöchstadt came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the place was assigned to the tax district Breitenlohe in 1808 . In 1818 the rural community of Frickenhöchstadt was formed. Its administration and jurisdiction were subordinate to the Burghaslach Lordship Court . From October 1, 1853, the financial administration was taken over by the Rentamt Höchstadt (1920–1929: Finanzamt Höchstadt , from 1929: Finanzamt Forchheim ), from October 1, 1857 the administration and jurisdiction was taken over by the Hochstadt Regional Court . From 1862 Frickenhöchstadt was administered by the district office of Höchstadt an der Aisch (renamed the district of Höchstadt an der Aisch in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Höchstadt until 1879, 1880–1959 district court of Höchstadt , from 1959 district court of Forchheim . The municipality had an area of 2,863 km².

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Frickenhöchstadt was merged with Kleinweisach and Dutendorf to form the new municipality of Weisachgrund . On May 1, 1978 this new community lost its independence and was incorporated into the Vestenbergsgreuth market.

The memory of a hailstorm in 1856, when the hailstones are said to have been larger than hen's eggs, has remained there to this day.
