Schornweisach is a district of the Uehlfeld market in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district .

geography

The parish village lies on the Weisach , a left tributary of the Aisch . Approx. The Eichholzberg ( 357  m above sea level ) rises 0.5 km to the north , behind it is the forest area In den Stuben. Approx. 1.25 km east is the Steinlohe forest area. In the southwest are the Dollbach and Gründlein corridors.

The district road Kreisstrasse NEA 12 / ERH 19 leads to Vestenbergsgreuth (2.3 km north) or Bergtheim (2.5 km south). The district road NEA 1 leads past the Hohenmühle to Altershausen (3.8 km west) or past the Eselsmühle to Tragelhöchstädt (2.5 km east). A community road leads to Rauschenberg to the district road NEA 14 (1.7 km southeast).

history

The place name contains the water body name Weisach and the word "Schor" ( mhd. For spade). The spade points to the dug up ground in the Weisach. In 1393 the first chapel was built in the village. In the 14./15. In the 16th century, the St. Roswinda Church was built in its place. In the Thirty Years' War Schornweisach was attacked 1635th

On December 10, 1700, the Bayreuth margrave pledged Schornweisach, together with Gutenstetten, Münchsteinach and Baudenbach, to the Würzburg prince-bishop (redemption took place in 1732 with 280,000 guilders). At the end of the 18th century there were 65 households and 1 community pastor's house in Schornweisach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuthische Stadtvogteiamt Neustadt an der Aisch , the Caste and Jurisdiktionsamt Dachsbach and the Centamt Höchstadt of the Hochstift Bamberg each on its property. The village and community rulership was exercised jointly by the three offices. The landlords were the Rittergut Rockenbach (25 properties: 6 estates, 3 estates, 16 drip houses ), the Oberamt Höchstadt (16 estates: 5 Sölden , 2 Söldenhäuser, 9 drip houses), the Principality of Bayreuth (19 estates; box and jurisdiction office Dachsbach: rectory , Parish church, brickworks; monastery office Birkenfeld : 1 estate; monastery office Münchsteinach : 3 courtyards, 6 Sölden, 5 houses, 1 mill), the parish Gutenstetten (1 estate), the parish Schornweisach (1 Sölde) and the early mass Reinhardshofen (3 goods, 1 little house).

In 1810 Schornweisach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Schornweisach tax district was formed in 1811 , to which the towns of Altershausen , Eselsmühle , Fallmeisterei , Hohenmühle , Neuebersbach , Pirkachshof , Schneidmühle and Wallmershof belonged. In 1813 it was assigned to the rural community of Oberhöchstädt . In 1813 the rural community of Schornweisach was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. On January 1, 1978, Schornweisach was incorporated into the Uehlfeld market as part of the regional reform .

The place has been Evangelical Lutheran since the Reformation. The inhabitants of the Evangelical-Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Roswinda (Schornweisach) .

A Jewish community existed in Schornweisach until 1877. Its origins go back to the 16th century. The Jewish community had a synagogue, a school and a cemetery . In 1877 the synagogue was abandoned and sold. It was then rebuilt several times. However, the building fabric has largely been preserved (location: Ortsstrasse 43).
