history
The place was first mentioned in 1285 as "Peppenhovstetten" when the Nuremberg burgrave Friedrich III. gave the place to the Archbishop of Cologne Siegfried as a fief. The place itself was subordinate in the Fraisch and the manorial rule to the office Dachsbach of the burgraviate of Nuremberg . In 1400 the burgraves sell their manorial claims in the village to Otto Heider and Katharina Zollner. In 1404 Wilhelm von Rennhofen received a tithe in "Peppenhofstat".
At the end of the 18th century there were 18 properties in Peppenhöchstädt. The high court and the village and community rule exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach . The landlords were the Dachsbach caste and jurisdiction office (3 estates, 1 estate, 1 smithy, 3 houses, 1 little house, 1 fall hut), the Bamberg cathedral chapter (6 estates) and the Nuremberg owner Haller von Hallerstein (2 estates).
In 1810 Peppenhöchstädt came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Peppenhöchstädt was assigned to the Kairlindach tax district in 1811 . In 1813 the tax district Birnbaum was formed, to which Peppenhöchstädt also belonged. In the same year it was assigned to the rural community of Traishöchstädt . With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Peppenhöchstädt was formed, to which the places Fallhaus , Gottesgab and Rohensaas belonged. It was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1920 to Finanzamt Neustadt an der Aisch ). From 1862 Peppenhöchstädt was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office (renamed the Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch until 1879, from 1880 district court Neustadt an der Aisch . The municipality had an area of 5,191 km².
On January 1, 1972, Peppenhöchstädt was incorporated into Uehlfeld as part of the regional reform .
