history

The place was first mentioned as "Reckenbach" in a note in the fief book of the Hochstift Würzburg , which must have originated between 1307 and 1308. In the Harrasian Treaty of 1496 one learns that Rockenbach had a customs post on a side road. The castle was first mentioned at the beginning of the 16th century. At that time it belonged to Messrs. Stein zum Altenstein. In the following time it came to the Lords of Grumbach , von Petsch, von Lauter and von Castell . Friedrich Carl von Seckendorff bought it in 1730 . The place was also subordinate to the respective lords of the castle. In addition, some properties were subordinate to the Münchaurach monastery .

At the end of the 18th century there were 23 properties in Rockenbach. The high court exercised partly the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office Dachsbach , partly the city bailiff office Neustadt an der Aisch . The manor Rockenbach ruled the village and community . The landlords were the manor Rockenbach (castle, 13 estates, 1 forge, 6 drip houses , community shepherd's house ) and the Reinhardshofen early mass (1 estate). The manor Rockenbach also had manorial claims over 25 properties in Schornweisach .

In 1810 Rockenbach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the parish edict, Rockenbach was assigned to the Rauschenberg tax district in 1811 . In 1813 it was assigned to the rural community of Rauschenberg. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Rockenbach was formed. It was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1920 to Finanzamt Neustadt an der Aisch ). However, until 1848 all properties were subject to voluntary jurisdiction and the local police to the Rockenbach Patrimonial Court . From 1862 Rockenbach was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office ( renamed Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch until 1879, from 1880 district court Neustadt an der Aisch . The municipality had an area of 1.604 km².

In 1867 the manor was broken up. Since then, the Rockenbacher Schloss became the property of the Rockenbacher subjects. The castle has been owned by the Christian Boy Scouts Association since 1968 .

On January 1, 1972, Rockenbach was incorporated into Gutenstetten as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
