Moldenhütten is a residential area in the Gottow district of the Nuthe-Urstromtal community in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg .

Geographical location

Moldenhütten is located south of the community center.

To the north lies the district of Woltersdorf . This is followed in a clockwise direction by Schöneweide , Gottow, Jänickendorf , the town of Luckenwalde and its district of Woltersdorf . Most of the area is wooded. The Lausergraben flows in a south-north direction through the residential area; the eastern border is the Eiserbach .

History and etymology

The place was first mentioned in 1805 and belonged to the Luckenwaldeschen Kreis . During this time, craftsmen continued to process linden and alder trees from the region by making indentations (hollows) in the wood. These wooden troughs were used in the household, for slaughtering or in the bakery trade. The pieces of wood were also used to collect ore , which was further processed in neighboring Gottow in the Royal Prussian Ironworks Gottow . The work was apparently only poorly paid, so that the workers could only build huts. In a school civic map from 1870 and 1871, the place finally appears as Moldenhauer Hütten .

Moldenhütten and Gottow were incorporated into the new municipality of Nuthe-Urstromtal on December 6, 1993. In 2005 the place celebrated a "200 years wooden trough festival".
