Mommark ( Sønderjysk or Alsisk : Momarg ) is a small port town with fewer than 200 inhabitants on the east coast of the Danish island of Als ( German  Alsen ).

The town belongs to the parish municipality ( Danish Sogn ) Lysabild Sogn in the Sønderborg municipality in the region of Syddanmark . Until the Danish administrative reform of 1970 , the city belonged to the Aabenraa-Sønderborg Amt , then to Sydals Kommune in what was then Sønderjyllands Amt , until it merged into Sønderborg Kommune with the Danish administrative reform of 2007 .

In earlier times, several times wrong daily ferries to and from Faaborg on the island of Fyn (dt .: Funen ) (set in 1967, replaced by a connection Fynshav - Bøjden ) and Søby on the island Ærø set (2009, replaced by a Fynshav-Søby ). Since the last ferry connection was closed, the port has only been used as a marina .

Until 1962, the Mommark ferry terminal was the last remaining connection of the Amtsbanerne på Als from Sønderborg. This line was opened in 1898 as a meter gauge line. In February 1933 the other connections were closed, the connection Sønderborg - Mommark was re-gauged to 1435 mm and reopened on June 15, 1933. This route was also closed on May 27, 1962.
