Morrill is a town in Waldo County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 884 people lived there in 379 households on an area of ​​44.16 km².

history

Morrill was organized as a town on March 3, 1855, it previously belonged to the town of Belmont. The town was named after Anson Morrill , who was governor of Maine at the time. The area was settled from 1801. The first settlers included James Weymouth, Benjamin Smith, Joseph Corning and Nathaniel Cushman. They bought the land from Henry Knox , owner of the Waldo patent .

In 1941, an area was added that was previously known as The Gore .

The Smith Mill Pond is a reservoir in the center of Morrill, which is formed by an old mill dam.
