The Museo Poldi Pezzoli is an art museum in Milan . It is located in downtown Milan, about 200 meters northeast of the Teatro alla Scala .

Much of the collection goes back to the will of the Milanese collector Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli (1822–1879). The museum was opened to the public on April 25, 1881 in his former villa and is supported by the Fondazione Artistica Museo Poldi Pezzoli nacque . Around 3000 objects, including jewelery, Murano glass , porcelain, weapons, armor and tapestries , formed the basis.

A research institute for restoration and art history is attached to the museum.

The collection includes archaeological finds, weapons, armor, ceramics, clocks including sundials, East Asian art, furniture, glasses, graphics, books, jewelery, netsukes , paintings, sculptures and textiles.
