NGC 1816 is an Open Star Cluster and Nebula near the Large Magellanic Cloud in the constellation Swordfish in the southern sky. It has a diameter of 1 ′ and an apparent magnitude of 9.00 mag.
The object was discovered on January 2nd, 1837 by John Herschel .
