NGC 2356 is the name for an open star cluster in the constellation Gemini . NGC 2356 has an angular diameter of 8 arc minutes and a brightness of 9.7 mag. The star cluster was observed on March 8, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel. 8 days later he observed the star cluster again, which is listed in the New General Catalog as NGC 2355 .
