NGC 2337 is an irregular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type IBm in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 20 million light years from the Milky Way and about 10,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered on January 17, 1877 by Édouard Stephan with an 80 cm reflector telescope . Johan Dreyer listed the galaxy a little later in his New General Catalog .
