NGC 2366 is an irregular galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type IBm in the constellation Giraffe in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 8 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 2363 , it forms an interacting pair of galaxies.
The object was discovered on December 3, 1788 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
