NGC 3324 is an emission nebula with a probably very young open star cluster in the northwest of the Carina Nebula , which is closely connected to the emission nebula IC 2599 . The distance is estimated to be 7,500 light years; the angular diameter is about 15 '. It was discovered by James Dunlop on May 1, 1826 .
