NGC 3302 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Antlia in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 173 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on January 28, 1835 .
