NGC 3306 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBm in the constellation Leo, north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 125 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 3299 and IC 619 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on April 27, 1886 .
