NGC 3301 = NGC 3760 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 57 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 60,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 3287 .
The object was discovered on March 12, 1784 by William Herschel (listed as NGC 3301) and on February 21, 1863 by Heinrich d'Arrest (listed as NGC 3760).
