The 2000/01 season was the 19th edition of the highest Finnish women's ice hockey league , the Naisten SM-sarja . The league was carried out by the Finnish ice hockey association Suomen Jääkiekkoliitto .

mode

Each team played a main round of 14 games. There were 2 points for a win and one for a draw. The first four teams of the preliminary round played for places in a double final round. The points and goals of the main round were taken. There were no play-offs this season.

In the preliminary round, a single round (return leg) was played. The first four teams qualified for the main round, the other four took part in a relegation round.

Relegation
