Nashville is an American city ( english City ). It is located in Berrien County in the southern state of Georgia . When United States Census ( Census ) in 2010, Nashville had 4,939 inhabitants.

Nashville is the County Seat ( German administrative headquarters of the district ) and is located approximately in its center about 100 kilometers southeast of Albany and about 170 kilometers west of the at the American Atlantic coast lying port city of Brunswick .
history
The original settlement was founded in 1840, in 1856 the county seat determined in 1892 for Town and 1900 to the City levied. Nashville is home to the courthouse (picture) and the county jail, built in 1903 (picture) . It was there that the last execution (by hanging ) took place before it was replaced by today's modern prison building in 1965. The old building belongs to the National Register of Historic Places ( German National Directory of Historic Places ) and is a listed building.
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 4,939 inhabitants were distributed over 1938 households, which gives an average of 2.46 people per household. There are a total of 2248 households.
64.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 3.08 persons. Children under the age of 18 lived in 34.1% of all households and persons aged 65 or over in 28.0% of all households.
29.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 20.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 37 years. 46.0% of the population were male and 54.0% were female.
74.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 21.2% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 0.4% as Asian Americans . 1.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.6% to several ethnic groups. 3.2% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
The average annual income per household was 31,746 USD , while 30.4% of the population lived below the poverty line.
