European Natural Track Luge Championships 1993

The 15th FIL Natural Track Luge European Championship took place from January 27th to 31st, 1993 in Stein an der Enns in Austria .

The Italian Anton Blasbichler became European champion in the men's singles. For him it was the first title and at the same time the first medal at major events. The Austrian Willi Danklmaier won silver . He had already won several medals at world and European championships. The bronze medal went to defending champion Franz Obrist from Italy.

The Austrian Irene Zechner became the European champion in the women's singles . She took second place at the last European Championship. The silver medal went to the defending champion Doris Haselrieder from Italy. Third was the Austrian Elvira Holzknecht , who was second at the World Cup last year.

Two-seater


Date: January 29, 1993 (both races)

The reigning world champions Almir Betemps and Corrado Herin from Italy became European champions in doubles. The silver medal was won by their compatriots Jürgen Pezzi and Christian Hafner . As four years ago, third place went to the Austrians Reinhold Buchmann and Manfred Als . The defending champions Krzysztof Niewiadomski and Oktawian Samulski from Poland did not finish.
