European Natural Track Luge Championships 1991

The 14th FIL Natural Track Luge European Championship took place from January 31 to February 3, 1991 in Fiè allo Sciliar in Italy .

The Italian Franz Obrist became European champion in the men's singles. He won ahead of his compatriots Erhard Mahlknecht and Harald Steinhauser . This is the sixth and so far last time at the European Natural Track Luge Championships that all medals in the men's singles have gone to Italy.

The European champion in the women's singles was the Italian Doris Haselrieder . The silver medal went to the Austrian Irene Koch , who had reached third place at the last two European championships. The winner of the last three European championships, Delia Vaudan from Italy, won the bronze medal.

Two-seater


The victory of the Poles Krzysztof Niewiadomski and Oktawian Samulski in the doubles was a double premiere: For the first time, a European championship in natural tobogganing did not go to Italy or Austria and at the same time it was also the first medal at the natural track tobogganing European championships that have been held since 1970 other country than Italy or Austria went. Second came the Italians Roland Niedermair and Hubert Burger , third the Austrians Georg Eberharter and Walter Mauracher .
