For the first time, the 28th European Natural Track Luge Championship was held by the Fédération Internationale de Luge de Course (FIL) on the world cup-proven short course in the Russian capital Moscow . Due to the weather, only 1 training run and 1 scoring run as a sprint competition on a shortened track could be carried out from February 21 to 23, 2020. The new European champions were: Evelin Lanthaler (ITA) in the women's singles, Michael Scheikl (AUT) in the men’s singles and Patrick Lambacher and Matthias Lambacher (ITA) in the doubles. It was the first European title of their career for both the Austrian and the Italian doubles. In the team competition (1 woman, 2 men) Italy prevailed ahead of Austria and host Russia.
